FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

These are some frequently asked questions about our house. If you have any further questions we will add them to the list.


1. Does the house have a good golf view?
  Yes – the house is located on the 7th Tee & Fairway

2. Is Highlands Reserve private and quiet?
  Yes – although Highlands Reserve is a golf resort, it is very exclusive and a lovely restful place to holiday.

3. Is it a large spacious house?
  www.FloridaCloudNine.com is an extremely large house of over 4500 sq ft. This is on average twice the size of a regular rental home in Florida.

4. Does it have a games room?
  Yes – The large garage has been converted into a games room, with pool table, arcade air hockey, foosball table and various other children’s games. There is also a card table and chairs as well as comfortable sofa and Cable TV

5. Is the House air conditioned?
  Yes – Fully air conditioned and fans in all masters, family room and lanai.

6. Is the house fully equipped?
  Yes see page on equipment list

7. Do you cater for Babies & Children?
  Yes – we have some baby equipment at no charge

8. Do you have pool heating?
  Yes Pool heating is available at an additional charge

9. Does the pool get sun all day?
  Because of the very large area at our pool side, pool sits away from the house so there is little shade from the house, therefore it has sun summer and winter.

10. Is there someone on site we can locate if something goes wrong?
  Yes – our management company are located on Highlands Reserve, they live literally around the corner and can be there in an emergency and are available office hours for standard questions.

11. Is the house well located?
  Yes – for attractions, shopping, golf etc see below

12. Can we book for two years in advance?
 
Yes – some large families often book ahead of time to ensure they can secure the villa, we already have enquiries for 2009 and 2010 bookings?

13. How do we book?
  To reserve a booking contact the owners and pay 20% deposit to confirm booking

14. When do we pay the balance of our due payment?
  Full payment must be made 12 weeks prior to departure

15. How many does the house sleep?
  14 people is the maximum we allow to stay at the house – violations of this may lead to cancellation of the contract and additional charges incurred.

16. Are you well located for SHOPPING ?
  YES

Grocery shopping, clothes shopping etc

Route for great Shopping Day (Not for the faint hearted, Long shopping day!!!)

Costco > Florida Mall > Outlet Stores > Millenia Mall…….

Travel route – Turn left onto the I27 as you leave Highlands Reserve, take the 192 until you reach the Florida 417, this is just past the Radisson Parkway hotel which is on your left, the 417 is on your right. Take the 417 North and come off at Junction 11. Take a left at the lights as you come off. Drive straight ahead for a couple of miles and Costco is on the left. Alternatively you can drive East on I4 and join the 417 a couple of miles ahead. THE 417 is a toll road 75 cents and a $1. This is much quicker and more economical on fuel than the entire drive on the 192. If you are coming back via the outlets or Millenia Mall it is quicker to return via I4 to junction 55.

Leaving Costco turn right to go back home and onto the 417 or turn LEFT for the FLORIDA Mall, which is a few miles along on the right hand side.

As you leave the Florida Mall, taking a left turn from the Mall, drive on to SAND LAKE ROAD, if you come out of the Mall on John Young Parkway or Orange Blossom Trail take a right until you reach Sand Lake Road. Take a left onto Sand Lake and drive until you see I4 East, take this exit and this will bring you out on to International Drive. Take a right on International Drive and continue for 5- 10 minutes, this leads you right into the Outlet shops these are now changed from Beltz to PRIME 1 Outlets.

Millenia Mall – As you drive towards the PRIME Outlet Centre, there is a road you would have to cross to get into the outlets, Oakridge Road, turn right on this road and you will see the Millenia Drive sign a few hundred yards ahead, take a left onto this road and continue for a couple of minutes. Millenia Mall is on the right.

Costco – If you have a UK membership you can use it here in Florida. The prices are about the same in dollars as we pay in pounds. It is very good for many items.

WallMart – There are two Wallmart Super Centres nearby.
• VERY CLOSE TO THE HOUSE. As you leave Highlands Reserve turn on to the I27 going left towards the 192, continue past the exit for the 192 and Wallmart is a couple of minutes away on the right.
• If you go to the right on the I27, drive past the I4 and Wallmart is on the left about 20 minute drive.

Groceries – Beer - Wine
• Publix Supermarket – Located on Sand Mine Road.
o If you come out of Highlands Reserve on the I27 Publix is on your left at the Sand Mine Road lights.
o If you come out of Highlands Reserve at Regal Palms - Publix is directly on your left before the lights on the I27

Outlet shops – There are two main outlet shopping centers:
• First one PREMIER OUTLETS, is on the I4 going East towards the airport, Take the Lake Buena Vista Exit 68, drive to traffic lights then drive straight across the road. Follow the road around for about ¾ mile and the Outlet shops are on your right.
• Second set of Outlets Prime 1 and maybe the larger of the two are further up on the I4 At Junction 74. Exit for International drive. Turn Left at lights. As you go North on International Drive you will come to the end of the road almost passing the Bed Bath & Beyond Shop on your left, Whistle Stop Junction restaurant on your right, continue to the end and you will see a number of outlet stores.
• There are three sets of shops at this outlet park, Hall 1 and Hall 2 on the left hand side and the group of shops on the right hand side.

Shopping Malls
• Florida Mall – You can use the turnpike as suggested above or you can use the I4 and come off International Drive at Sand Lake Road going East. Florida Mall is about 10 mins from International Drive.
• Millenia Mall – Directions as above or take I4 exit 74, turn left and drive along International Drive then follow as above.


17. Beaches – Are there any beaches nearby?
  Yes, there are some great beaches on either side of Highlands Reserve, Davenport. Clear Water on the East Coast is lovely and if you fancy a drive, Naples and Venice on the West coast are nice to see. Naples is beautiful and the water is lovely.

18. Eating Out – Are there restaurants and take-aways nearby?
  Take Aways
• Pizza – there is a very good Pizza place around the corner near Publix supermarket. Pizza Hut or Dominos will deliver.
• Chinese – There is a take away next to Publix.
• Publix do freshly fried chicken to go
• Subway is very good – there is one attached to the garage on the I27 to the left of Highlands Reserve. There is also one on the 192 very close by, almost a couple of minutes after joining the 192 from the I27. On the left, there is a Pizza place there too and a British Shop and British Pub next door. You can get your favourite sweets and groceries if you are home sick.


Restaurants – There are a number of restaurants on the 192, too many to do in a few weeks.
• If there is a large crowd of you the most economical may be the buffet style. The two we would recommend are:
o WhistleStop Junction which is right next to the Outlet Shops at Junction 74 of the I4, they do a steak buffet every day after 4pm and you can get coupons for discounts. There lunch is also very good.
o The other one good for a crowd and limited budgets, is called the Golden Corral, which is great for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We found that if you go at 11am you get everything fresh coming out for lunch and you still have the choice of many breakfast items. Terrific when you are trying to please a crowd. Their hamburgers are VERY good.
o Italian & Steakhouses – again there are several Italian & Steak house restaurants on the 192. Outback is good.

19. Is the house near all of the major Attractions?
 

Yes - All of the attractions are very close by see map

• For Universal Studios and Sea World take the I4 East.
• For Disney World, Magic Kingdom, Animal World and Down Town Disney (Down town is a nice shopping area with cinema and restaurants – a nice walk) take the 192 traveling East or you can also join from the IA also going East.
• Busch Gardens is 45mins – 1 hour


20. Is the house Safe?
 

YES – The house is in a very safe neighbourhood and is fully alarmed with 24 hour call out protection.

To ensure you and your belongings remain safe please follow the guidelines below:

LEAVING THE HOUSE FOR THE DAY

Please make sure you have locked the garage door and internal garage door also ensure that both doors leading to the pool are closed and locked including the bar on the Patio door.

In winter - Please put the pool cover on, this keeps the temperature up in the pool and helps to keep it clean.

Please turn off fans when you are out, this saves on electricity and is more environmentally friendly. The air con is on continuously.

AIR CONDITIONING – please do not turn the air conditioning unit up to FULL, this freezes the system and has the opposite effect. If the engineer needs to be called out for this fault, you may be charged for the call out fee.


21. Can we make telephone calls ?
 

Yes you can make free reasonable local and long distance calls. If you wish to make international calls you will need to purchase a pre-paid phone card.


22. IF YOU GET LOST is it easy to find my way home?
 

Yes When driving home from the attractions or outlet shops - If you get lost, ask for directions onto the I4 WEST. Travel on the I4 West until you get to Junction 55, take a left at the lights as you come off the I4, Highlands Reserve is a couple of miles along on the left hand side. There are two entrances – One before the lights on Sand Mine Road and the other is on Sand Mine Road.
